A bushfire emergency warning has been issued for a community south of Darwin with a blaze considered a risk to lives and property.
The fire is burning in the area of Poett Road at Rum Jungle.
Bushfires NT says the blaze is spreading on more than one front and effective containment measures are not in place for the entire perimeter.
Locals have been urged to leave if it is safe to do so.
