Emergency services were scrambled to an incident allegedly involving a blade in Larbert amid reports of a 'man covered in blood'.
Crews including Police Scotland and Scottish Ambulance Service were spotted in the McIntyre Avenue area of the town.
A helicopter has also landed near Kinnaird Primary School.
Photos taken at the scene show a flat window which appears to show blood smeared on the glass.
At least two police vehicles and an ambulance can be seen parked at a block of flats nearby.
Crowds have gathered in the vicinity, including young children and teens.
The incident allegedly involves a knife, according to eyewitnesses.
An eyewitness said: “We were having a BBQ and I could hear shouting for help but I couldn't really make out where it was coming from.
“A few seconds later this guy came from nowhere covered in blood and said something about a knife.
"I couldn't really make out what he was saying though.
“He ran off so me and my husband decided to go for a look in case someone was laying injured and when we walked round the corner there was someone pointing up at a window.
"It was covered in blood.
“Two ambulances arrived and the paramedics went running into the block, with the police doing the same a few minutes later."
Officers have confirmed that they are currently attending an 'incident' involving 'a medical evacuation to the hospital'.
The exact nature of the incident remains unclear.
Police Scotland have been contacted for further comment.
