Traffic has been disrupted on the A1 Eastbound at Wallyford after a vehicle caught fire.
The incident took place around 4:20pm this afternoon (Friday).
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service mobilised two appliances to the scene to extinguish the fire, with police also attending to control traffic in the area.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported by fire crews as a result of the blaze.
At least one lane has now reopened to commuters.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were in attendance with two fire appliances that extinguished the fire and left the scene. There were no reported injuries.”
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Police Scotland were called at around 4:20pm to an incident involving a vehicle on fire on the A1 Eastbound at Wallyford.
“Police were called to assist traffic management.”
Traffic Scotland notified drivers that a vehicle was on fire at 4:40pm through their Twitter channel and said that traffic was restricted Southbound between Wallyford and Tranent.
