Emergency services were spotted in the Fishponds area yesterday evening (May 26) after being called out to rescue a patient from a third-floor building - who was later taken to Southmead Hospital.
Fire crews from several stations across the city descended on Adelaide Place to assist the ambulance services, who were already at the scene, following a report at around 7.31 pm. A spokesperson from Avon, Fire and Rescue services told Bristol Live that their presence was not due to a fire, but to lend a helping hand.
"It wasn’t a fire. We were called to assist a casualty down from the third floor of the building before handing it over to Ambulance crews

"At around 20:20 last night, crews from Kingswood, Temple and Avonmouth fire stations were called to Adelaide Place in Fishponds. On arrival, crews used a turntable ladder to rescue a person from the third floor, via the balcony, who was then conveyed to the hospital by Ambulance."
A spokesperson for the South West Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: “We were called at 19.31hrs on Thursday 26 May to an incident in Fishponds. We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, and we conveyed one patient by ambulance to Southmead Hospital”.
