Emergency services have raced to a 'multi-vehicle crash' on the A9 in Perthshire this afternoon.
Officers were called to the scene this afternoon just after 12pm after reports of a road crash involving multiple vehicles. They quickly shut down the road and have told motorists to stay away from the area.
Locals reported seeing a flurry of emergency services vehicles racing towards the scene, including an air ambulance, up to nine police cars and 10 fire engines.
One said: "Looks like a major incident, I saw about 10 fire engines passing and an air ambulance is at the scene too."
Another commented: "I can’t imagine what’s happened. I’ve never seen so many emergency vehicles."
And another eyewitness added: "The road is now closed and it is at a complete standstill for miles each way. I spotted an air ambulance, nine police vehicles, including several unmarked, at least four fire engines plus smaller fire vehicles, plus doctors and ambulances."
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed they are at the scene and said the road is currently closed.
They said: “Emergency services are in attendance following a multi-vehicle crash on the A9 at Dunkeld, which was reported around 12.05pm on Friday, 16 September, 2022.
“The road is currently closed.”
