The emergency services have given an update on a cash point attack in Lockleaze which caused 'significant damage' to a convenience store below a block of flats. In the early hours of Saturday, March 19, the police and fire service were called to an ATM on fire on Morris Road after locals reported hearing a 'loud bang.'
Two people are believed to have attacked the ATM and stolen a 'quantity of cash' just before 1am. It’s believed a motorcycle was used, according to an initial statement by Avon and Somerset Police. Meanwhile Avon Fire and Rescue said it was looking into whether explosives had been used.
Three days after the attack both emergency services have given an update on the incident. Police says its investigations are ongoing whilst the fire service says the cause of the incident was 'thought to be deliberate ignition.'
