One lane is shut on the M62 this morning due to a 'vehicle leaving the carriageway'.
The accident happened on the eastbound carriageway at around 6.50am this morning, according to traffic alert service Inrix. One lane is currently closed from junction 18 for Simister Island to junction 19 for Heywood.
Police and highways officers have been called to the scene. Traffic is currently coping well in the area.

A tweet posted by the North West Motorway Police said: "Good Morning from C Block, Rach, Jim and Bri back with you after our rest days, just the one incident of note, we have a vehicle that has left the carriageway on the M62 eastbound between Simister Island J18 & Birch Services, National Highways & Police are at the scene & dealing."
