An international charity is urging Dubliners to donate to its appeal for the Turkish earthquake.
Shelterbox provides support to communities following natural disasters. The charity is currently seeking tents, survival kits and heater stoves following the earthquake that took place in Turkey, which has claimed at least 40,000 lives to date.
Many areas remain without power following the natural disaster, as well as gas and running water. Shelterbox is taking to the streets of Stillorgan Village as part of the appeal, with the support of Dun Laoghaire Rotary Club.

The makeshift tents and boxes provided by the group can provide accommodation for families of six. Some of Shelterbox's items will be on display the day of the collection.
Dun Laoghaire's Rotary Club President Fred Duffy said: "There is of course an ongoing need for rebuilding entire cities but that will take several decades. This is no relief to thousands of families and the children who are face to face with disaster. They need help today."
The charity will collect donations at Stillorgan Shopping Centre all day Friday, from 9.30am to 5.30pm. The funds will go to families in both Turkey and neighbouring countries affected by the devastating natural event.
