The college football landscape is surprisingly turning even more into the Wild West, which is saying something considering the insane dumpster fire history of the NCAA. But now the driving force is NIL also known as Name, Image and Likeness.
Players enrolling in certain colleges to get paid or have more exposure is nothing new, but now it is legal for players to get paid. There are still rules against “poaching” players that are not in the portal, but according to many, this hasn’t stopped anybody.
Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka has confirmed that he has been contacted by multiple schools in regard to possibly transferring, but that is not the surprising part. Egbuka’s response was a little less enthusiastic than one would expect from a top receiver on a College Football Playoff team.
Egbuka is a sophomore who has caught 66 receptions for 1,039 yards and nine touchdowns. He has one year of eligibility remaining before he can bolt to the NFL and be another high-draft pick that Wide Receiver U is now known for, so when he said he was “content” at Ohio State a few raised their eyebrows noting the lukewarm response.
“Content”?? He’s a starting WR on a Top 4 team playing with a Heisman candidate QB and putting up career numbers…”content”??..thank your lucky stars. https://t.co/4dR5m5oHWB

We’re not saying there’s anything to be worried about here, but you’d think you’d get a little different response from Egbuka if there were zero chance that some tampering was going on.
