Manchester United made the worst possible start to their second game of their pre-season preparations, falling 1-0 behind to Melbourne Victory with just five minutes on the clock.
Fresh from Tuesday's 4-0 win over Liverpool, United started on the front foot at Melbourne Cricket Ground, piling bodies forward in pursuit of an early goal. However, the Reds were caught on the counter-attack by their Australian hosts, who hit the front early on through Chris Ikonomidis.
The Australian swept home from inside the box, converting Ben Folami's low cross first-time. It was a splendid move by the home side, started by the goalkeeper, but it highlighted United's defensive frailties, with Victor Lindelof failing to cut out the cross.

United, despite beating Liverpool 4-0 on Tuesday, did experience a few jittery moments at the back, with Luis Diaz often proving threatening. It is clear that Erik ten Hag still has plenty of work to do with his side's defence.
And that was the opinion of United's supporters, who, unsurprisingly, immediately took to social media to react to Melbourne's early opener.
