Manchester United were stunned by Cypriot minnows Omonia Nicosia in the Europa League on Thursday evening, falling behind with just over half an hour on the clock.
The Reds, who arrived in Cyprus looking to get back to winning ways after Sunday's 6-3 horror show at the hands of Manchester City, were caught on the counter-attack, with Tyrell Malacia being robbed of possession by Bruno Felipe deep inside the home side's half. United had committed bodies forward for a free-kick and were quickly swamped by Neil Lennon's side.
Felipe led the breakaway before playing a well-timed pass to Karim Ansarifard, who skipped away from Lisandro Martinez and fired an emphatic effort into the roof of the net, sparking wild scenes in the stand behind the goal. It had come completely against the run of play, with David de Gea not having had anything to do up until that juncture.
