Hollywood agent Byron Raphael has claimed Elvis Presley and Marilyn Monroe 'had a night of passion in a hotel room’.
The pop culture icons met at Paramount Studios in June 1960, and until now, it’s been a mystery as to what two of the most famous stars in the world got up to once they left the lot in Los Angeles.
Byron, who worked as a junior agent during the 1960s, said Elvis’ representatives at William Morris Agency wanted the Jailhouse Rock hitmaker to go on a date with Marilyn, who was one of the hottest actresses in the world.
Elvis, who had just returned from military service in Germany, was filming his next movie, GI Blues, and was dating his teenage girlfriend Priscilla Beaulieu, as well as Hollywood starlet Anita Wood.
Byron alleged that the singer’s agents wanted to send him and Marilyn on high-profile dates to boost their popularity, but the Some Like It Hot star had turned him down.
But their encounter didn’t end there, as they enjoyed one night of passion at a hotel, and were witnessed leaving their room completely naked after a steamy rendezvous, the agent alleged.
“It was a rainy night and I brought her to the Beverly Wilshire hotel and we went upstairs to his room,” he said, according to Express.co.uk .
“When he saw her, they came together and, without a word, started kissing. I was in shock and didn't know what to do,” Byron continued.
After some small talk and flirting, the most famous sex symbols of all time went into the bedroom.
“I didn't know if I was supposed to leave, or stay and wait for them, so I sort of just dozed off,” Byron said.
“The next thing I knew I was startled awake by the door opening and I dove behind the bar. And they both walked out stark naked. I didn't say a word, I just stayed quietly,” he added.
Elvis then called a cab for Marilyn, and their night of passion was over.
“A few days later when I mentioned Marilyn to Elvis, he said, ‘She's a nice gal, but a little tall for me’,” Byron recalled.
