Elvis’ 1968 Comeback Special Hagstrom Viking II is heading to auction (again) – and is now expected to sell for more than $1 million

The Hagstrom Viking II electric guitar that Elvis played during his ’68 Comeback Special is headed to auction via Sotheby’s, after selling for $625,000 in 2021. It is now expected to fetch between $1 million and $2 million.

“This guitar became a symbol of Elvis’ legendary comeback,” comments Craig Inciardi, Sotheby’s Music and Pop Culture Specialist.
