Music legend Sir Elton John will be performing his final ever Welsh gig in Swansea on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 as part of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road: The Final Tour, and it promises to be an unforgettable evening. The Rocket Man star will play the Swansea.com stadium for the second time, which on this occasion comes at the end of his illustrious career. He has achieved one diamond, 40 platinum or multi-platinum, and 23 gold albums, along with more than 50 top 40 hits.
The 75-year-old has sold more than 300 million records worldwide and holds the record for the biggest selling single of all time, Candle In The Wind, which sold more than 33 million copies in 1997. We reported how his last gig set an attendance record for the stadium at the time, with more than 24,000 people there that evening. A plethora of star names followed his gig, including Pink on June 23, 2010, and Rod Stewart on June 1, 2011. JLS performed there on June 12, 2011, before the Kings of Leon followed on July 2, 2014. Manic Street Preachers were next up on May 28, 2016, and Lionel Ritchie also wowed the crowds that same summer. The last few gigs we have seen at the stadium were Take That who performed at the stadium on June 14, 2017, followed by The Killers on June 23, 2018 and Little Mix on July 7, 2018.

What time does Elton's performance begin?
Doors for the concert will open at 4.30pm, with Elton John’s performance beginning at 7pm. Organisers warn that timings are approximate and subject to change.

Will there be road closures in place?
There will be a partial road closure in place from 2.30pm on Brunel Way. Due to this road closure, concert-goers who have parking on-site must access the car park must access via the A0467 dual carriageway. There is no other entry to this car park. There will also be a temporary road closure in place at the end of the concert. Closure of the A4067 dual carriageway (opposite the stadium) will take place for at least 45 minutes, and roads will be reopened once safe to do so.
What items are banned from the stadium?
No professional recording or photography equipment will be permitted at the venue. No glass bottles or containers, metal cutlery, sharp items or any items likely to compromise safety are to be brought into the stadium. Fireworks, smoke canisters, flags, banners, poles, laser pointers, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (i.e drones) or other similar articles are not permitted in the stadium and any person in possession of any such articles may be refused entrance. No bags larger than A4 in size, will be permitted into the venue or the external village.
Where can I park my car?
On-site parking at the Swansea.com Stadium has now sold out, as are the Fabian Way park and ride and the Landore park and walk services. Due to a high demand for parking and travel services for the event, a park and walk service will be operational on Cwm Level playing fields at a charge of £15 per car. Parking is also available at Swansea High Street multi-storey car park (SA1 1NU), and is a 25 minute walk to the stadium. Bookings can be made by clicking here.
What buses will be running?
There will be the normal city centre buses in operation prior to the event. Buses 4 and 4a leave the Swansea Quadrant and drop off opposite the Swansea.com Stadium. The last bus service on Neath Road, is scheduled for 10.35pm and 10.59pm respectively.
What about trains?
The nearest railway station to the Stadium is Swansea High Street which is approximately 1.5 miles away, but the final train service out of Swansea is scheduled for 9.32pm..
Is it ok to smoke inside the stadium?
No. Smoking (including E-cigarettes) is not permitted in any area of the stadium.
Can I use cash when inside?
No. The Swansea.com stadium is operating as a cashless venue, therefore only card payments will be accepted. This includes all areas within the stadium and the catering village.
