Elton John is performing at Anfield tonight as part of his huge Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.
It is the star’s final tour and the first of three scheduled Liverpool dates, with him due to return to the city for two nights at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena in April 2023. Thousands of people are expected to arrive at Anfield this evening with the doors opening at 4.30pm.
Having released his first single in 1970, fans will be expecting to hear a huge range of songs from his back catalogue, including Tiny Dancer, I’m Still Standing and Your Song. Those who have been waiting to see the star in Liverpool now finally have their chance.

Elton John setlist
Although there isn't an official setlist available, Elton John is expected to perform a number of his greatest hits including "Rocket Man", "Candle In The Wind", "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" and "Crocodile Rock". Support act
There is no opening act for Elton John on his farewell tour. While there's always a chance for special guests and surprise musical acts, Elton fans can expect a full set from him only.
Start times
Anfield will open its doors to concert goers at 4:30pm on Friday afternoon. There is currently no support act planned, with Elton John taking to the stage at 7pm. The show will finish at around 9:45pm and an 11pm curfew is in place.
Weather forecast
The UK is set for a heatwave on Friday, with Liverpool expecting glorious sunshine and highs of 22 degrees. Between 4pm and 7pm on Friday evening, temperatures will reach around 20 degrees, dropping slightly after 8pm with highs of 18 degrees.
No rain is predicted, but there may be some clouds around. The sun is due to set at around 9:43pm, just before Elton’s show comes to a close.

Guests are also asked to not bring any type of bags to the concert. For all performances, guests will only be allowed to carry bags that do not exceed 30 cm x 15 cm x 30 cm (10 inch x 10 inch). Anfield Stadium also operates on a cashless basis.
Getting to Anfield Stadium by car, bus and train
Anfield Stadium is based on Anfield Road, Anfield, Liverpool, L4 0TH. There's a number of ways to get to the stadium, though it's best to plan your route in advance. Using public transport is advised. If you're travelling by bus, there's express services that takes passengers to and from Anfield and Liverpool city centre in around 15 minutes.
The 917 express shuttle bus service operates from Commutation Row in the city centre from 3.30pm each show day. You can find out more by clicking here . From the city centre, there's the 26 from Liverpool ONE bus station; 17 from Queen Square Bus Station or the 917 from Commutation Row, directly to the ground. The 68/168, which operates between Bootle and Aigburth, and the 14 and 19 (from Queen Square) stop a short walk away from the ground.
The Concert Bus will run from Sandhills Station, on the Merseyrail Northern Line, to Anfield for all concerts at Anfield. The Concert Bus will run from 4.30pm on show day. You can find out more by clicking here.
If you're travelling from outside Liverpool by train, Lime Street station is based two miles from Anfield. From 1.30pm each show day, LFC will have a dedicated fan support team based at the station to help direct fans to the most convenient transport services, including buses. There's also taxis available from Lime Street.
If you're travelling by train within the Liverpool area, Merseyrail operates regular services across 67 stations throughout Merseyside. Passengers can get regular services into Liverpool from Ellesmere Port, Chester, West Kirby and New Brighton on the Wirral Line and Southport, Ormskirk, Kirkby and Hunts Cross on the Northern Line.

Road closures
There will be a number of road closures for the concert tomorrow night. Both carriageways of Walton Breck Road will be closed from 12 noon, a temporary road closure will be put in place to help crowds enter and leave the stadium safely.
The road will remain closed until midnight or earlier if it’s deemed ‘safe.’ Pedestrian access will be maintained during this time, direction signage will be in place to direct pedestrians in the area.
Anfield Road will remain a no through road due to LFC’s Anfield Road Stadium expansion. Pedestrian access will be available via Dhalia walk.
Skerries Road will close to cars from 12 noon, but residents will be granted access. There will also be steel shield fencing installed around the food hub at the end of the road (located on club property) as part of the stadium access for concerts.
Parking at Anfield Stadium
There is no car parking available at the stadium for ticket holders, so be sure to use public transport to travel to Anfield. For fans who want to park on the day of the event, they will be advised to take city centre car parks and take the 917 bus service, or other local train and bus services to the station.
There is limited disabled car parking available on Stanley Car Park which must be pre-booked. There are disabled drop-off and pick-up areas on Arkles Lane and Gilman Street, which service both sides of the stadium.
Pick up and drop off areas for all other vehicles are on Priory Road, as well as coach parking. Fans are also advised to not park on residential streets, as any illegally parked cars could be fined.
The Football Match Parking Zone (FMPZ) also operates from 10pm – 12am from August 1 to 30 June. This time period will allow enforcement to take place to cover all potential match times, concerts, and major events.
