Elon Musk’s Uncanny Encounter On X Sparks Simulation Jokes

Elon Musk's twitter profile is displayed on a mobile phone and the image of him is seen on a computer screen on back of it in Ankara, Turkiye on October 06, 2022. After Elon Musk engaged in a Spaces session hosted by an Elon Musk parody account on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Friday, several users joked that they were living “in a simulation” due to the uncanny voice resemblance between Musk and another participant.

During the session, the billionaire entrepreneur spoke with Adrian Dittmann for about eight minutes. The interaction amused Musk, as he burst into laughter as soon as Dittmann spoke. Musk later tweeted, “That was next-level,” and asked, “How do we know this is a real person?”

A report by Business Insider Africa shows that the billionaire has dropped several hints regarding his plans to shake up the world of social media.

“X wouldn’t be the first app trying to do a bit of everything. In fact, Musk indicated in May 2022 that he might look for inspiration from Tencent’s WeChat, a Chinese social media juggernaut that’s one of the largest super-apps in the world,” said Business Insider Africa.

Dittmann also tweeted about the interaction, writing, “Speaking to Elon is freaky. It’s like talking to an alternate version of yourself that understands your humor better than anyone.”

“Tesla CEO Elon Musk completed the deal to acquire Twitter at his original offer price of $54.20 a share at a total cost of roughly $44 billion on 28 October 2022,” said Go.com.

“In the ensuing days, Musk fired top executives, laid off half of the company’s staff, formed a content moderation council that will review account reinstatements and revamped the platform’s subscription service,” Go.com continues to say.

Wikipedia describes Musk as the wealthiest person in the world with an estimated net worth of US$239 billion as of July 2023, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index and $248.8 billion according to Forbes’s Real Time Billionaires list, primarily from his ownership stakes in Tesla and SpaceX.
