Elon Musk recently attempted to host a digital town hall event reminiscent of the town-hall-style rallies he had previously held on behalf of former President Donald Trump. However, the event encountered technical difficulties and ended abruptly just a few minutes after it began on Monday night.
The event, which was scheduled to start at 8 p.m. ET, began streaming more than 20 minutes late. When Musk finally joined, he promoted a podcast interview with Joe Rogan and offered to take questions from listeners. Unfortunately, when an operator tried to facilitate questions from four listeners who had been on hold, the line went silent when they were called upon.
During the event, Musk expressed his support for Trump, stating that if people vote, they will definitely win. However, due to the technical issues, Musk decided to cancel the event, promising to start a regular livestream spaces event on X.
Following the town hall, Musk attempted to start an X Spaces event, which lasted only one minute and had no audio. Musk then announced that he would not restart the Q&A session and encouraged his followers to listen to his Rogan interview instead, where Rogan endorsed Trump.
This is not the first time Musk has faced technical difficulties during election-related events on X. An August interview between Musk and Trump was delayed by over 40 minutes due to glitches, which Musk attributed to a cyberattack. Similarly, a previous event to kick off Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis' presidential campaign was delayed by 25 minutes and also faced technical issues.
