Elon Musk has issued an apocalypse warning as he predicts the end of mankind and drawn parallels to the dinosaurs saying "this will happen again".
The Tesla tycoon, 51, alerted his 104million Twitter followers of his bleak theory after sharing a link to a BBC news article which wrote about the death of dinosaurs.
He commented on the article: "This will happen again – just a matter of time", seemingly referring to the end of mankind, reported the Daily Star.
The article read: "The asteroid that ended the Cretaceous took with it famous dinosaurs like Tyrannosaurus and Triceratops, as well as lesser-known but bizarre creatures like Anzu, or the 'chicken from hell'."
It went on to describe how small rodent-like animals such as the Purgatorius, as well as our distant ancestors, then took the place of the planet's former inhabitants.
Musk's many fans chimed in, with one saying adding: "Already happening".
Another speculated: "Well in the past 10 per cent of the Earth's past we know there have been five major mass extinctions. So every one every 50-100million years.
"And it's been awfully quiet these past 65M years.. Just saying.. living on two planets sounds pretty good right about now".
He made headlines for similar theories last week after he claimed that global warming wasn't the biggest threat our species faced.
Elon similarly warned the Internet that "population collapse due to low birth rates is a much bigger risk to civilization than global warming" - attracting both praise and criticism for the claim.
"Is having kids the only solution?" one Twitter user asked, to which he responded with a simple "Yes".
Another user wasn't so interested in Musk's theories, chiming in: "He just throws nonsense out there to see if it sticks".
Another added: "You are so wrong on this one Elon."
Despite his scary musings on the end of times, the tech billionaire made headlines after he took a nine-minute private jet flight from San Francisco to San Jose, California.
Social media users were up in arms, dubbing him one of the "Bad Boys Billionaires" and noting he could have taken the train, which was only five stops.
One user wrote: “But women should have more children to conserve the human race, meanwhile Bad Boys Billionaires can continue making Earth uninhabitable.”
