On Thursday, CEO Elon Musk, who was married twice to British actress Talulah Riley, reacted to the latter’s announcement regarding her engagement.
Earlier this week, Riley announced on Twitter that she is engaged to fellow actor Thomas Brodie-Sangster after two years of dating.
Sharing a picture of them both together, “Very happy to share that after two years of dating, Thomas Brodie Sangster and I are engaged!” said Riley in a tweet on Thursday.
Musk was among the early ones to respond to the announcement.
“Congratulations,” he said in reply to the tweet, following his message with a heart emoji.
Musk married Riley for the first time in 2010, two years after he divorced his first wife and mother of six of his children, author Justine Wilson. The Tesla CEO and the British actress divorced two years later only to remarry in 2013. They again divorced amicably in 2016.
Musk previously shared an old picture of him and Riley in Venice, suggesting they remain friends. In an interview with The Independent, “Obviously I understand it looks strange. But that logic made sense at the time,” said Riley of the pair’s decision to remarry.
“I suppose the reason to get remarried was just because it felt silly to be together unmarried after having been married. You know, it’s like a habit. We were saying, ‘This is my husband.’ ‘This is my wife.’ ‘Oh, wait, no, we’re not that anymore. We better be that again.” She added.
Riley – who is now dating her Pistol co-star Thomas Brodie-Sangster said she shares a “very deep love and connection” with Musk, adding: “He’s a great friend, he looks out for me. We are in a happy place now, where we’re good to each other, which is really nice. I have the utmost love for him.”

Riley, who has starred in “Westworld,” “Inception,” and “Pride & Prejudice,” also shared an engagement announcement on her X (née Twitter) account, posting a photo of herself and Brodie-Sangster.
Riley and Brodie-Sangster met while working on “Pistol,” an FX series chronicling the ascent of the Sex Pistols, People reported. On the show, they play a real-life couple — manager Malcolm McLaren and designer Vivienne Westwood. The costars made their red-carpet debut in March 2022, according to People.
Musk, who is currently best-known for buying Twitter (X?) and managing it into borderline irrelevance, replied to her engagement announcement post, supporting her and Brodie-Sangster.
