It's official -- the world can stop asking now.
Elon Musk is neither Republican nor Democrat. Elon Musk is an "independent/moderate" who has only voted Republican once in his life, according to a recent reply he made to one of Bill Maher's tweets.

Musk's political affiliation has become more of a topic of discussion after he started expressing interest in purchasing Twitter, possibly the country's largest and most boisterous public town hall.
This isn't the first time Musk has outlined his political leanings on Twitter. Last year he said that his decision to "vote Republican" in the future would result in attacks against him from the left.
But this week he also said (joked?) that he voted for Joe Biden in the last election.
Days later, Biden would give Musk some of the attention from the White House he has desperately sought in the past.
Biden Shouts Out Tesla
Tesla (TSLA) has made the decision to open up its charging network to all vehicles, and the Biden administration felt that this move was worthy of mention this week.
In the past, Musk has bristled at the fact that Biden presented General Motors (GM) as the leading electric vehicle maker in the country despite the fact that Tesla sells way more EVs than GM does.
"In the auto industry, Detroit is leading the world in electric vehicles. You know how critical it is?" Biden said in November 2021.
Meanwhile in 2021, Tesla delivered 1.31 million electric vehicles, compared with less than 40,000 EVs sold by GM.
Thus, Musk has claimed that "this Administration has done everything it can to sideline & ignore Tesla, even though we have made twice as many EVs as rest of US industry combined.
