Ellis Genge has insisted England are happy to be written off ahead of Saturday's daunting Six Nations trip to Dublin.
England must regroup after last weekend's record home defeat, the 53-10 savaging by France, but an even tougher challenge awaits against Ireland, the world's No1 Test team.
Ireland can complete a second Grand Slam in five years, but Genge claimed England will relish their underdog status. And the Bristol prop maintained that building for the autumn's World Cup must be the primary goal.
"Everyone writes us off, that's brilliant, we're just going to graft and see where we come out," said Genge. "Let's see where we're at in six months, but until then we will do everything to be back on track.
"I've been in this situation numerous times before, and I know how we turn this around."
England's seven-try shaming by France has undercut the early progress under Steve Borthwick, and the squad are desperate to close out the Six Nations by at least restoring pride. "You win and lose as a group," said Genge. "We got punished and no one is under any illusions."
