Eddie Howe has made it clear that Elliot Anderson is an "integral" part of his plans going into the new season at Newcastle United.
That will be disappointing news for the queue of clubs wanting to sign him on a season long loan with Luton Town, West Bromwich Albion and Bristol City all keen. And after being impressed with the 19-year-old, Howe even views the Academy product as a "new signing".
Speaking at his press conference today Howe said: "I’m looking at daily progression. He’s come in as a new signing – and has elevated his performance.

"He’s come back very fit, tactically fitted in to our systems – and we really like him. He’s quiet, but has a steely determination to do well for the team – and we like him a lot. As we stand now, he will not be going anywhere."
When asked about his views on staying or going earlier this summer, Anderson had said: "I want to be here. "I want to force my way into the team, but, I guess, that’s the club’s decision. I’ve just got to work as hard as I can on the pitch and see what happens."
However, it appears that the Newcastle head coach has already made up his mind a month before the window shuts. Howe said: "As things stand he stays and he will be an integral part of the squad."
