Elliot Anderson handed big chance as Newcastle United fans pick XI to face Leicester

Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe will have to make at least one change for tonight's Premier League clash with Leicester City at St James' Park.

Midfielder Joe Willock limped out of the 4-1 win over Brighton on Thursday night and is expected to be ruled out of the final two games of the season, meaning Howe has a decision to make in midfield. With Sean Longstaff unlikely to feature, the Magpies are down to the bare bones in this department, although Joelinton is expected to shake off a knock and keep his place.

We asked Newcastle fans what side they would put out tonight, and you've gone for Geordie youngster Elliot Anderson to be handed only his second Premier League start for the club. Anderson did start against Liverpool earlier this year, but was the unlucky man to make way for Martin Dubravka following Nick Pope's red card.

Anderson has made regular appearances from the bench, but he's been backed by fans to pick up the Willock role in an otherwise unchanged side. That means Miguel Almiron keeps his place on the right-hand side of a front three that includes Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak.

At the back, it's the usual back four, with Kieran Trippier, Fabian Schar, Sven Botman and Dan Burn once again going into battle ahead of Pope.

We'll have all the latest from St James' Park tonight as it happens, with United needing just one more point to guarantee they'll be playing Champions League football next season.

NEWCASTLE UNITED FAN XI VS LEICESTER CITY: Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Anderson, Guimaraes, Joelinton; Almiron, Wilson, Isak.
