Ellie Taylor has been forced to pull out of the Royal Variety Performance after giving birth early to her second child.
The 40-year-old was due to join a host of celebrities and performers at the Royal Albert Hall tonight (Thursday, November 30) to perform at the annual charity event.
But instead, she has swapped her ballgown for a hospital gown after going into labour.
The comedian, who appeared on the 2022 series of Strictly Come Dancing, shared a picture of herself and her new bundle of joy on her Instagram page.
The first picture shows the glitzy golden dress she was set to wear at the Royal Variety Performance. Fans could then swipe right to see a picture of her in a hospital bed, wearing compression socks and cradling a newborn baby boy wearing a knitted red hat.
She captioned the post: "This is the fabulous outfit I was meant to be wearing tonight while doing stand-up at the @royalvarietyperformance in front of 4,000 people, including @princeandprincessofwales."Swipe to see the actual outfit I’ll be wearing tonight due to the surprise early arrival of my own little HRH…"Gutted to miss out but also very very happy to be wearing giant mesh knickers and saying “But his skin is just so SOFT!” ten times an hour. Fans and friends were quick to congratulate the star on her new arrival on social media.
One, going by the name Fiveminutemum, wrote: "CONGRATULATIONS!!! Oh wow, kids love to just spoil our fun right from the off don’t they?!! ð â¤ï¸ but no doubt your chance to glitter on that stage will come again. In the meantime, sending lots of love to you all and a big well done to you for creating another little ratbag xxx"
Another, Tania Cole, added: "Congratulations Ellie, good excuse to get out of a night out ð"
Taylor is married to Phil Black, an Australian CNN International freelance reporter, based in London. The pair already share an older daughter, five-year-old Valentina.
The couple have not yet announced the name of their newborn.
