Ellie Goulding 'sells £3.1million London home at big loss' after splitting from husband Caspar Jopling

Ellie Goulding has reportedly sold her £3.1million London home more than four years after first putting it on the market.

It comes the same year that the singer, 37, split from husband Caspar Jopling. She and the art dealer called time on their four-year marriage in February and continue to co-parent their son Arthur, four.

The Starry Eyed hit-maker first listed the five-storey, four-bedroom semi-detached townhouse in Marylebone for £5.95million in October of 2020, before slashing the price by £350,000 to £5.6million a year later.

Now, according to The Sun, she has finally found a buyer after dropping the price again, with the property eventually selling for £2.55m, which is £625,000 less than she paid for it.

A source told the publication: “The property market is a killer at the minute and Ellie just wanted to get rid.

“She has a decent portfolio of properties but she's been readjusting following her break-up with Caspar earlier this year.”

The Standard has contacted a representative for Ellie Goulding for comment.

The 2,961 sq.ft house was designed by architects Stiff + Trevillion and features a series of dramatic tall windows, a trendy spiral staircase and Gaggenau integrated appliances.

Goulding was frequently pictured posing for pap shots outside the handy central London location before heading out to various showbiz events.

The home is full of modern and trendy features including a mezzanine floor, lightwells, high ceilings and parquet flooring, as well as a home cinema, reception room and a state-of-the-art kitchen.

Clearly keen to put the past behind her, Goulding is said to be planning to make a music come back two years after her fifth studio album Higher Than Heaven topped the charts.

She has teased not only one, but two new albums, one of which will see her veer away from her trademark electropop and venture into the classical genre.

“I have a huge passion for classical music,” she told The Sun earlier this month.
