Ellen DeGeneres has reportedly bought property in the UK.
The 66-year-old comedienne – who has been married to actress Portia de Rossi since 2008 – quit her US talk show in 2022 after almost two decades on air and then released her final stand-up comedy special but is said to have “fallen in love” with a house in the Cotswolds.
A source told The Sun newspaper’s Biz on Sunday column: “Ellen has fallen in love with the property in the Cotswolds.
"She has been on the lookout for a house in the area and often visits her celebrity pals."
Other A-listers who have previously bought property in the South West region – which is notable for its countryside villages – include supermodel Kate Moss and ‘Bridget Jones’ Diary’ star Hugh Grant.
Ellen is said to have been inspired by the idea of the “status” that would come with owning a house in the area.
The source added: “A Cotswolds house has become a status symbol in the celebrity world and Ellen wanted to join the pack.”
The ‘Finding Nemo’ star – who normally lives in Montecito, California in a $25 million mansion but also has an estate in Santa Barbara worth a reported $70 million - confirmed her impending retirement after 'Ellen’s Last Stand…Up Tour' hits Netflix later this year and her latest stand-up stint.
Speaking to the audience at her show in Santa Rosa, California this month, she said when asked where fans can see her next: "Um, no.
"This is the last time you're going to see me. After my Netflix special, I'm done."
She continued: "Thank you for still caring!
"Let me catch you up on what's been going on with me since you last saw me. I got chickens."
