Ella Henderson keen to perform on Love Island despite being 'blocked' from watching show

Her songs already frequently feature on Love Island, but Ella Henderson is up for taking things to the next level and performing live in the Spanish villa for this year's love-seeking singletons.

Despite being such a huge fan of the ITV2 series, the former X Factor favourite, 26, needs to catch up on what has been happening so far over in Majorca - thanks to not being able to stream the British show while touring Europe.

"I love Love Island," Ella confessed backstage at the Capital FM Summertime Ball with Barclaycard on Sunday.

"But I've just been on a tour around Europe and ITV [Hub] blocks Love Island so I'm so behind - don't even tell me [anything].

"I know that my songs keep getting played. I need to play catch up as I did watch the first two episodes and I feel like that's not enough to get to grips with who's who and everything."

Once she does get up to speed with what's going down in the villa, would she be up for popping in as a musical guest one episode?

"OMG yes! Yes I would," Ella excitedly answered the Mirror when asked.

"I would like to throw a little bit of scandalous news in there too and walk out!"

Over the years, past series of Love Island have seen Craig David and Mabel perform for the villa residents - with the Don't Call Me Up singer even admitting she'd be up for a second visit when chatting backstage at Wembley Stadium.

Elsewhere in her interview with the Mirror ahead of performing in front of an 80,000 strong crowd on Sunday, Ella shared some valuable advice for any newbies to the music world battling stage fright.

The Ghost singer may only be 26, but she has been a regular in the charts for almost a decade now after rising to fame on the ninth series of The X Factor in 2012.

Her debut solo album, Chapter One, shot straight to number one upon its release in 2014, and more recently, featured in the U.K Top 20 when she collaborated with David Guetta and Becky Hill on the song Crazy What Love Can Do earlier this year.

"I have to say, my biggest advice [to younger, newer artists] would be to not stress, not worry, shake all the nerves off and have fun!" Ella wisely mused on Sunday.

"For many of us artists here, normally we're really, really nervous, but i've noticed are so relaxed because we're just so excited to be back on stage again."

"We're buzzing. We're very excited to be back."

Capital FM Summertime Ball with Barclaycard saw Ella take to the stage at Wembley Stadium on Sunday night, alongside the likes of opening act Ed Sheeran, crowd favourite Harry Styles and Aitch.
