Electrical and mechanical contractor wired for growth as recruitment drive supports strong start to 2023

Electrical and mechanical contractor GW Power-Safe is on a recruitment drive as it gears up to deliver strong growth.

GW Power-safe, an award-winning Hull company, enters the new year working on a range of prestigious projects and is forecasting a turnover of between £6 million and £7 million in 2023, maintaining healthy profits. Alongside the original services, there has been strong growth in the renewables division, with solar, battery storage and commercial air source heat pumps all now catered for.

To support the growth, managing director Daniel Haley is seeking to add 10 new roles to the 35-strong team on Scott Street, with highly skilled electricians, plumbers, mechanical and electrical estimators, and a design manager sought.

“We are proud to have achieved continued growth and success at GW Power-safe,” Mr Haley said, having been named Small Business of the Year at the 2021 Hull Live Business Awards and picked up the largest scheme in 2022, one of 400 jobs completed. “This is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team, as well as our commitment to investing in the development of our apprentices."

A total of seven are on the books, as it looks to build on growth of 38 per cent last year.

"These young professionals have proven to be an invaluable asset to our company, and we are excited to see them progress through the ranks and make significant contributions to our business," Mr Haley added. "At GW Power-safe, we are committed to delivering the highest quality services to our clients, constantly seeking ways to improve, and leading the way in sustainability through our decarbonisation efforts and diversification.”

It is currently working with both national and regional construction companies and business end users in a wide range of industries.

The company has also implemented its own plan to decarbonise its business activities and has set a roadmap to achieve net zero, making it one of the first mechanical and electrical companies in the region to begin this process. It follows the launch of energy efficiency specialist C3 Group with Ash Wray last September.
