‘Election fireball’ meteor shower to peak tonight in first of twin Taurids

Sister meteor showers will see the Southern Taurids peak on the morning of 5 November and the Northern Taurids reach their zenith on 12 November, 2024 - (iStock/ Getty Images)

Twin meteor showers will peak just a week apart this month, with the first celestial display taking place on Monday night.

The Southern Taurids will reach their zenith on the night of 4-5 November, while the Northern Taurid meteor shower will peak on 12 November.
