Authorities are investigating the death of an elderly Australian woman who was left behind by the cruise ship she was travelling on at the Great Barrier Reef’s Lizard Island.

The solo traveller, aged in her eighties, was aboard a 60-day circumnavigation cruise of Australia, costing around $80,000 (£40,000) per person.
