An elderly man is desperately trying to save his Jack Russell after a judge ordered for her to be put down after she bit a woman.
Owner Donal Rogers, 85, claims the woman refused to travel with him after he offered to bring her to the hospital before a neighbour took her instead.
It is said Kim nipped a woman in the leg while she was walking down the road.
Rogers, a retired Garda, then received a court summons saying Kim had to be put to sleep.
The man, from Roscommon, Ireland, has written a letter to the woman, telling her that his dogs are his main source of comfort.
He wrote: "I don’t know how I’d cope without Kim.”
An online petition has started to help save Kim and has gained more than 150,000 signatures.
In Mr Rogers' letter, he offered various solutions such as keeping on her muzzle, as reported in Gript.ie.
He also said he would enrol Kim in a dog training course and that kind-hearted strangers have offered to help ensure his property is gated so she remains inside.
He said: "If none of the above eases your concerns I am willing to agree to Kim being assessed by an independent expert in dog safety. If the expert says that putting Kim to sleep is the only safe option, then I will deliver Kim to the dog warden to be put to sleep."
Mr Rogers said: “Surely something along these lines would provide you with comfort that Kim is not going to hurt anyone."
He also said that he lives in a rural area and that there are not many passers-by so Kim’s exposure to the public is minimal.
He added: "The real question I am asking is whether there is any outcome that would satisfy you other than Kim being destroyed? If the answer is yes, then I will do anything that is required. Please just tell me what I need to do."
He has appealed to Roscommon Circuit Court but the decision has been upheld.
Mr Rogers then applied to the High Court for an extension of time to appeal, which has given Kim more time.
