Meet Tundra - an elderly husky who was found as a stray earlier this year and is now hoping to find a home for the summer. The 12-year-old dog was taken into Manchester Dogs Home in January, and has since spent 146 days at the rescue after coming in off the streets.
Volunteers at the rescue say he’s been ‘waiting without any interest’ despite his friendly and affectionate nature. Considered a senior, the 28kg lad is looking for a family where he can live out his golden years and relax in his retirement.

A spokesperson for the rescue centre said: “Since arriving, Tundra has shown himself to be a happy and friendly boy who enjoys being made a fuss of. Despite his senior age, Tundra is very active and enjoys his daily walks.
“He does walk well on the lead, however, he has been known to pull, usually when he is intrigued by something he can see in the distance, which his new owners need to be mindful of.”
Tundra is looking for a family who have knowledge of the Husky breed, and as he prefers his own space, he will need to be the only dog in the household. The charity added: “Tundra has met other dogs when out on his daily walks and although he has walked well alongside some, he isn’t afraid to tell them off if they get in his face.
“Children in the household need to be over the age of 14 years and he is unable to live with other pets.”
Tundra isn’t the only husky looking for a family at Manchester Dogs Home, Diesel - who we wrote about two weeks ago - is also still waiting for a new owner to adopt him.
