The latest patch for FromSoftware's Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree nerfs the final boss to make the fight easier as part of the game's balance changes.

The game's version 1.14 implements a lot of changes to FromSoftware's highly popular soulslike, including adjustments to the last boss. Players struggled and still struggle to beat the last enemy despite the game's DLC being released three months ago.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree's Patch

The latest update is to make sure that more players can finish Elden Ring's one and only expansion. One of the most notable adjustments is at the start of the battle.

Players will now have ample time to settle into the battle without worrying too much about a quick attack from the boss.

Some of the final boss' attack moves have also been adjusted with a variety of changes. These include reduced damage, reduced stamina damage, reduced attack range, and improved visibility, according to Eurogamer.

The last one is particularly important because the final boss in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has a lot of flashy gold effects. This can sometimes make it difficult for players to see certain attacks coming at them.

The latest patch also makes other adjustments that affect PvP play and other general changes that affect equipment. There are also some improvements made to some weapon arts and tweaks to various spells.

The PvP aspect of the release includes decreased damage of Backhand Blades against other people. The newest update is now out for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam, said IGN.

The general balance adjustments also increased the attack speed of the uncharged version of the first heavy attack for many different weapon types. These include daggers, throwing blades, straight swords, and many others.

A Series of Buffs and Nerfs

Another thing that was changed takes effect when players perform left handed attacks with weapons of the Great Katana category. Canceling into subsequent attacks using the right-handed weapon will not take a longer time.

One of the biggest buffs in the latest patch affects one particular equipment, Rellana's Cameo, which is a talisman found in the boss' castle. The patch buffs "attacks executed after maintaining the same stance for a certain length of time."

This means that if you hold a pose before unleashing a skill, Rellana's Cameo will boost that particular skill's damage. Prior to the patch, players had to hold the stance for quite a long time to get a decent damage boost, according to GamesRadar.
