Furnace Golems are one of the new types of optional bosses in Elden Ring's Shadow of the Erdtree expansion that turn up the heat to a new level.

While players can encounter Furnace Golems relatively early in their journey across the DLC area, it provides a little bit more challenge than they can handle at this moment. Being able to beat this boss requires patience and a little bit more effort.

Furnace Golems are big and slow but their attacks deal a lot of damage if you get hit. This boss will immediately punish players who try to be too greedy and take them on without enough preparation.

This guide helps players learn where to find Furnace Golems and what they need to beat them reliably. We list down some recommendations for equipment and things you should prepare before the fight.

Preparing for the Boss

Before you go looking for a Furnace Golem, there are a few things that you should get to prepare for the fight.

You should level up Torrent by finding one, or several, Revered Spirit Ash. It is also recommended to equip a Flamedrake Talisman +1 or something better for Fire resistance, according to The Gamer.

Another thing that you should get is the Rowa Fruit which will come in handy for healing Torrent. When it comes to weapons, having some thrown weapons like the Hefty Fire Pot or ranged spells such as Flame Sling or Fire Arrows will be good to use.

You can benefit more from your thrown items by finding more Scautree Fragments and equipping the Smithing Talisman.

Where To Find Furnace Golems

Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree has eight separate locations where players can find a Furnace Golem boss. They are all found in all of the regions except for the Abyssal Woods area, Polygon said.

Fighting the Furnace Golem

After you find a Furnace Golem, the only thing left to do is beat it and get your rewards, which is easier said than done. This boss has a few attacks that you should always keep a lookout for, including its fireballs and flaming jets.

Being in melee range also lets the Furnace Golem use an attack where it jumps into the air and comes crashing back down. This particular attack will cause a huge wave of explosions that can catch players off guard.

The recommended strategy for Furnace Golem bosses is to ride Torrent so that you can dodge the majority of the boss' attacks by jumping over them. You can also sprint behind the boss to avoid any damage.

When you attack the Furnace Golem, you should focus on hitting its face so that you deal even more damage compared to other body parts. The key to this fight is being patient and waiting for an opening to deal damage without leaving you open to counterattacks.

You should also be staying on Torrent for nearly the entire boss fight to maintain mobility against the Furnace Golem's attacks. Due to the boss' mechanics, going in too close is much more dangerous than staying back and using ranged attacks.

Furnace Golem Rewards

When you beat the Furnace Golem, you will receive two items, a Furnace Visage and an Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree exclusive Crystal Tear.

The latter varies with every Furnace Golem boss you beat and can enhance your Physick Flask with brand-new abilities, according to Game Rant.
