El Chapo's Wife, Emma Coronel, and his Lawyer Rocks the Milan Runway in Bridal Couture

Emma Coronel, the wife of notorious drug lord Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán, made her striking debut on the Milan Fashion Week runway just one year after her release from a federal rehabilitation center in Los Angeles.

Coronel, 35, walked in an elegant bridal gown complete with a crown, leaving attendees in awe at the show by LA-based designer April Black Diamond.

On Sunday, September 22, Coronel graced the runway at Palazzo Serbelloni, a historic venue that once housed Napoleon Bonaparte, as noted in the brand's invitation sent out on September 14. The mother of twin girls, who served two years for charges including drug trafficking and money laundering, made a bold return to the public eye through this glamorous event.

"I'm a firm believer that dreams do come true when you work hard with all your heart!" Coronel exclaimed in an Instagram post, standing alongside Guatemalan stylist Sergio Fernando Arévalo, who has overseen her transformation into a budding fashion model.

"You see, I TOLD you it's possible! Everyone deserves the chance to fulfill their dreams and rise like a phoenix to start anew," she added in another post featuring a video of her stunning dress and her friend Mariel Colón Miró, a Puerto Rican lawyer for El Chapo. "I told you there were surprises on the way!" Coronel teased, hinting at more to come.

April Black Diamond's Instagram account confirmed that Coronel had been selected to open and close their much-anticipated collection, a showcase that emphasized luxury, elegance, and boldness. "Emma has always embodied the essence of high fashion, and this is further proof of her incredible influence in the world of style and glamour," the post read.

Coronel shared behind-the-scenes footage on her social media, showing moments with Arévalo as he applied the finishing touches to her look. Every detail leading up to the event, from makeup sessions to choosing the dazzling bridal gowns, was documented by Coronel, Colón, and April Black Diamond.

In the days leading up to the show, Coronel and Colón posted images of the special gifts they received, the sights they visited, and the restaurants where they dined and celebrated. This marked the first time Coronel traveled outside of the U.S. since completing her sentence for drug-related offenses. The anticipation was palpable as the lights dimmed, and the music filled the air, signaling the start of a night that would be remembered.

During the fashion show they looked radiant and regal.

Coronel and El Chapo`s lawyer had revealed that she had trouble finding work, a condition of her early release from jail, after serving two of her three year sentence. Modeling seems to be a job she does well. Her experience in Milan showed that her chops as a beauty queen are still current.
