One of the UK's biggest 80s' music stars is being lined up by the makers of Strictly Come Dancing after being a top target for many years. Shakin' Stevens - aka Mike Barratt - was a regular in the charts and could now be taking to the ballroom for this year's series.
Famous for hits like This Ole House and Merry Christmas Everyone, 'Shakey' has been chased by Stricty producers desperate for him to do his thing on the dancefloor. Their hopes have been boosted after the 75-year-old Welsh singer returned to the charts with Re-set, his first new album for seven years, reports the Daily Star.
A well-placed source told the website: “Bosses have spent years trying to get national Shakey on the show and are hopeful that he’ll finally say yes. Shakey is considered a national treasure thanks to that big Christmas hit and is certain to be popular with viewers.
