Kyndall Johnson, an eighth grader, scored an impressive buzzer-beater to lead her high school team in Kentucky to a hard-fought road win on Thursday night.
A guard, Johnson is one of two eighth-grade prospects who play for Bracken County (Brooksville, Kentucky). The basket clinched a 53-52 win for Bracken County over a very strong Fleming County (Flemingsburg, Kentucky).
Now, before going into Johnson’s clutch play, let’s talk for a minute about the lead-up to the game-winner.
Nicole Archibald, the starting point guard and a junior, received the in-bounds with 4.6 seconds and her team down by one point. She does well to avoid the trap and carry the ball up the court. With a third defender closing in on her, Archibald had the vision to look up and see a wide-open Johnson.
From there, it was ice water in her veins from Johnson to lay up the game-winner:

That’s a well-coached team. Bracken County couldn’t have executed that play any better.
