Egypt announced sending urgent medical and humanitarian aid to Lebanon on Thursday to help it overcome the economic and humanitarian crisis.
Minister of Social Solidarity and Deputy Chairperson of Egyptian Red Crescent (ERC) Nivine El-Kabbag directed the ERC and civil society organizations, namely Misr El Khair Foundation, Resala Association, Food Bank, and the Clothing Bank, to send humanitarian aid to Lebanon.
She said the aid comes in line with the political leadership’s vision, which aims at “providing all the support needed to brotherly countries, especially in times of crises and adversity."
The aid includes 100 tons of relief and food products (blankets, mattresses, and food items) and 250 tons of medical supplies (face masks and medicines), as well as other aids provided by other governmental agencies.
She commended the participation of civil society organizations, and the efforts of ERC volunteers to complete the logistical procedures.
