Lanarkshire locals turned out in their droves at the weekend for a cracking Easter Gala day.
It was the first event of its kind to take place in Hamilton, as fun activities and games were aplenty for families to enjoy.
The day kicked off at 10am with the opening of the much-loved markets in the town centre, which have been a constant feature in Hamilton Business Improvement District (BID) events since last year.
This time, the Easter Gala days are mainly aimed at kids during the spring holidays with activities such as outdoor play organised for youngsters.
Live entertainment was on show with Samba Ya Bamba, An Abba Dream and drag queen Garry King all performing on the day before a silent disco was held for all to join in.
The day also consisted of a special Easter egg trail, fairground rides and arts and crafts stalls.
The markets saw over 30 vendors turn out in the town centre, run by local businesses and a number of takeaways and restaurants in the area.
And it will all run again this Saturday, April 16, in the second of two Easter Gala days in Hamilton.
Face painters, magicians, balloon modellers and so much more will once again be part of the fun.
Malcolm Thomas-Harley, Hamilton BID manager told Lanarkshire Live leading up to the events: "It will be very kids focused so lots to do during the Easter break free of charge.
"There's lots of community involvement, and there'll be something for everybody. The feel will be very relaxed and engaging for everybody to get involved, and hopefully shop in the local shops too."
Delighted with the turnout on Saturday, Hamilton BID posted on social media: "Thank you to everyone who came to our Easter Gala Day market on Saturday - it's a wonderful sight to see the streets of Hamilton full of people, music, entertainment, and local businesses....absolutely incredible!
"We are back again this Saturday from 10am, see you all there!"
The second Gala event takes place this Saturday, April 16, with the markets opening from 10am to 4pm and live entertainment from 11.30am.
