Peterborough United chairman Darragh MacAnthony has admitted that it’s his ‘dream’ to see Liverpool sign one of the club’s players.
MacAnthony was referring to young centre-back Ronnie Edwards, who has impressed at the Championship club. The 19-year-old made 34 appearances in the second tier of English football for the Posh last season.
And, on Saturday, Edwards was included in the starting line-up for England Under-19s in their UEFA European Under-19 Championship match against Israel. It was the defender's fourth cap at that level.

Edwards’ appearance led to MacAnthony taking to Twitter to express his delight. And the Peterborough chief, who is apparently a Liverpool fan, discussed the £10m-rated player's future with fans on the social media site.
One fan said the Posh shouldn’t sell Edwards for ‘anything less than £10m’, while another referred to MacAnthony’s connections with Liverpool over selling the 19-year-old for just 50p.
This led to MacAnthony expressing his desire to see the Reds sign Edwards one day. “My dream is for them to buy him,” he wrote.
