Arsenal technical director Edu has hinted that the club are actively trying to sign more players between now and Thursday's deadline.
Speaking to fans outside London Colney yesterday, the Brazilian smiled and replied "hopefully" when asked if there would be any new signings in the coming days, Arsenal supporter Prec Brown revealed on Twitter. The Gunners have spent around £120m on five players so far this summer but had to halt their shopping spree in order to focus on outgoings.
Bernd Leno, Pablo Mari, Nuno Tavares, Lucas Torreira and Nicolas Pepe are just some of those that have departed on either a permanent or loan deal in recent weeks, leaving Mikel Arteta with a need to rebalance his squad ahead of a demanding fixture schedule.

The Arsenal boss has previously claimed that extra "firepower" is required, therefore suggesting a winger will be the most likely acquisition if there is to be one. An unsuccessful pursuit of Raphinha prior to his move to Barcelona was a clear indication of Arsenal's intent to sign a new wide forward this summer, but a lack of progress with other names since has left the situation up in the air.
It's a similar story with Wolves' Pedro Neto. It was reported that the Portuguese international had become Arteta and Edu's priority in the final days of the window, but The Athletic claims that a deal now looks unlikely due to the substantial fee that would be involved.
Meanwhile, Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has said that Arsenal have explored the conditions of a potential deal for Ukrainian winger Mykhaylo Mudryk. The 21-year-old is viewed as an exciting young talent filled with potential, although it's added Everton also hold interest after having a £25.6m verbal proposal turned down by Shakhtar Donetsk last week.
