Arsenal and Manchester United remain interested in signing Joao Felix on-loan from Atletico Madrid in January. The Portuguese forward looks set to leave the Spanish outfit, but a permanent transfer exit seems unlikely at this stage.
The Gunners are prioritising a move for Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk but are waiting on a response following their improved £62million offer. Chelsea have launched a last ditch attempt to hijack Arsenal's move for Mudryk after Shakhtar chiefs were spotted at Stamford Bridge on Thursday night.
Felix's agent, Jorge Mendes, has held talks with both Premier League clubs and will hope that he can convince Atletico to lower their demands for a £16million package in order to secure a move away for the 23-year-old. Felix maintains contact with his former Atletico team-mate Thomas Partey, who switched to the Emirates in October 2020, and that could help Arsenal convince him if the move comes down to a personal choice.
