Arsenal sporting director Edu has taken to social media all but confirming the club's summer transfer intentions.
The north Londoners have already wrapped up a deal to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea, announcing the £60million, plus £5million in add-ons, deal on Wednesday. And the Gunners have wasted no time since then.
After seeing two bids for West Ham United captain Declan Rice rejected by the Hammers, a third proposal worth an initial £100million with £5million in add-ons, has since been accepted by the east London outfit in principle. Talks surrounding the instalments of how the fee will be paid continue and it is claimed that the final details could be completed by Monday whilst personal terms are unlikely to be an issue considering the player's preference has always been a move to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal's pursuit of Ajax defender Jurrien Timber is also advancing, with the two clubs said to have agreed to a deal worth around £40million as final details continue to be ironed out. This kind of activity has excited Gunners supporters, with one fan posting a video of famous rapper Snoop Dogg saying: "This (expletive) don't (sic) miss", on Instagram.
The post is accompanied by a caption that reads: "Edu signing Havertz, Rice and Timber in 1 week." Edu himself then responded to the post, commenting five laughing emojis - seemingly hinting that the post is in fact likely to happen.
The Brazilian transfer chief spoke about the club's summer transfer plans back in May, revealing the thought process behind potential targets. Speaking to ESPN Brazil, he said: "It’s identifying very well where we can improve.

"If they are individual, isolated positions, if they are units, if they are ‘final third’, as we call it here, if they are midfield, defensive part. This diagnosis we already have because we already have a very clear style of play by (Mikel) Arteta.
“Today, you see Arsenal playing and identify with it, you know that is Arsenal’s style. So now it’s time to understand where we can boost the units so that the team can improve and go to another level of performance. And I think there is another level, we have one more level.
“With me and Arteta talking, we find it, we believe that we have a level to improve in terms of performance. And now make a good transfer window, understand the need, to get right the athlete, the characteristics, the mentality of the athlete that we want, to once again raise the level of our squad.”
