Eberechi Eze was phenomenal in the Premier League before the World Cup pause for Crystal palace. The youngster has previously been linked with a move to Arsenal and his displays in the league highlights why he must emerge as a transfer target.
It looks unlikely that Arsenal would be able to prize him away in the January transfer window due to him a crucial player for Patrick Vieira. However, this does not mean that Edu should not be undertaking the groundwork to prepare for the next window.
Eze would be an excellent addition for Arsenal due to the flair he can install in the team. His statistics which compare to the world’s best youngsters highlights why a deal should be explored by the Gunners.

The Englishman would be an excellent addition for Arsenal due to the flair he can install in the team. His versatility to play in multiple areas of the pitch should also be another reason which draws Edu to capturing his signature
Eze has a dribbling success rate of over 60% in the early months of the campaign. This is complemented by the fact that he has averaged just over two successful dribbles a match, which has been identical to Barcelona’s Pedri in this campaign.
Pedri is highly regarded and is considered as one of Europe’s most promising youngsters. This was highlighted when he was awarded with the Kopa trophy in 2021, which is an award for the best player under 21 over the course of the year.
The fact that Eze has similar statistics to the Spaniard, shows the quality of the Crystal Palace midfielder, and the promise he also has to be a top Premier League player in the future.
Eze recently revealed that it had been his dream to play for the Gunners, and he is certainly a player that Edu should have on his radar due to the ability of the youngster. More interestingly, the midfielder was a part of the Arsenal academy before being released, which gives the north London side an extra incentive to sign him as there is unfinished business.
Speaking on the Rising Ballers YouTube channel, Eze said: "Arsenal was probably the hardest [rejection]. My dream was to play for them. Hearing them say 'no' at 13 was tough. I remember training after I got released, I couldn’t focus because I was crying."
Eze's primary position is in the No.10 role, but similarly to Emile Smith Rowe he can also play on the wings, and that would create a healthy competition for places. Eze has only recently recovered from a serious Achilles injury, so it would be wise for Arsenal to monitor his progress before coming in with a bid. But if he continues to the same trajectory at Crystal Palace before the serious injury, the Gunners should certainly look into acquiring the youngster who is destined to be an England international - unless he is tempted to switch to Nigeria, of course.
