Edu and Arsenal's biggest transfer issue revealed as further summer exits planned

Nicolas Pepe is expected to leave Arsenal this summer but his sale is proving to be technical director Edu's biggest problem, according to reports.

football.london understands that Pepe wants to leave the club and has instructed his new agent to help him secure a move away from the Emirates.

Pepe is one of several senior first team players who are seen as dispensable by Arteta, and offers are expected to be entertained for the Ivorian during this transfer window.

The likes of Hector Bellerin, Lucas Torreira, Pablo Mari, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and more are likely to depart the club, but according to Goal, Pepe is proving to be Edu's most difficult challenge.

With just two years left on his deal, the club want to sell Pepe. However, according to the report, the problem is simply finding a buyer for somebody who's already thought to be on £150,000-a-week.

Finding a club who would be willing to get close to those wages, while also agreeing to pay Arsenal any sort of significant transfer fee is difficult. Whilst it's something Arsenal are working on, and all parties want to find a resolution, it'll be far from easy.

As it stands, a loan deal - perhaps with an option to buy - is the most likely scenario.
