Edinburgh will be hotter than San Francisco tomorrow as Met Office predicts scorching weather

Edinburgh is set to be hotter than San Francisco tomorrow as the Met office predicts the June warm weather is set to continue for the foreseeable future.

On Friday, temperatures in Edinburgh are set to spike- with the capital set to be hotter than San Francisco and as hot as Lyon. The Met office described the weather across Lothian as: “Becoming more unsettled with some showers, heavy and thundery at times, but some drier brighter periods too. Still quite warm. Maximum temperature 24°C.”

Looking at the forecast for Friday, it is looking cloudy in the morning with the cloud breaking to allow through some sun from the late morning well into the afternoon. However, by the evening there is predicted to be some sunny showers and darker weather as the night draws in.

Despite that, the temperatures in Edinburgh are still set to reach a scorching 22 C as the warm weather from throughout the month continues.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the weather is set to stay warm, with temperatures of 17 and 18 C for Saturday and Sunday but the weather is still set to be mixed. The Met office said: “Sunshine and scattered showers on Saturday, becoming cloudy with rain later. Cooler, windy. Sunday breezy with sunshine and showers. Fewer showers on Monday.”

Saturday is set to start sunny with some clouds closing in in the early morning. This cloudy, but still sunny weather, will break with some rainy spells in the evening.

Sunday is set to be slightly better weather, largely cloudy with some sun but still enjoying warm weather with the temperature set to reach 16 C. Monday is also set to be warm, with temperatures reaching 17C and there is set to be fewer showers by the start of the week than will be experienced over Saturday and Sunday.
