Edinburgh venue wins Scotland's dog-friendly pub of the year title at national awards

An Edinburgh venue triumphed at a national food and drinks awards ceremony to pick up the Scotland's dog-friendly pub of the year prize.

Hundreds of Scotland’s licensed trade gathered together at a glitzy awards ceremony in Glasgow at the Scottish Bar & Pub Awards 2022 on Tuesday night.

The prestigious event saw over 27 venues and individuals pick up the coveted awards from up and down the country including Glasgow’s Ga Ga, Troon’s The Fox and Edinburgh’s The Commons Club at Virgin Hotel - as we reported yesterday.

The team has since taken to social media to share its success, commenting: "We are delighted to have won the DOG FRIENDLY PUB OF THE YEAR award at this years @scottishbarpubawards in Glasgow on Tuesday night!

"Dogs are welcome in our bar, restaurant, outdoor terrace and even in our rooms!

"We want to make your four-legged friends experience just as good as yours and have plenty of water bowls and gravy bones to keep them happy while you enjoy a bite to eat or a cocktail or two!".

Described as a stylish neighbourhood boutique hotel, bar and restaurant in Edinburgh's Bruntsfield area, owners say the popular venue is 'independently owned and loved, Black Ivy has been created to offer informal excellence and stylish experiences that will have you returning again and again.'

Speaking about the winners at the Scottish Bar & Pub Awards, organiser Susan Young said: "It’s been another incredible year for the annual Scottish Bar and Pub Awards as we’ve recognised some of the most creative, hard-working and beloved venues in the country. Following a difficult few years for the licensed trade, it’s fantastic to see so many venues dedicate their time to staff training, inventive menus and new initiatives.

"From Inverness to Dundee, Troon to Uddingston, this year’s winners have gone above and beyond to provide exemplary customer service, create new cocktails or champion their local live music scene. I’d like to give a special mention and warmest congratulations to our DRAM Lifetime Achievement Award winner Colin Blair from Buzzworks and Inspirational Woman of the Year, Giovanna Eusebi from Eusebi Deli - they are two worthy winners and a credit to our industry.

"Congratulations everyone and thanks for once again helping us shine a spotlight on Scotland’s best venues".

Congratulations from us at Edinburgh Live to Black Ivy for a well-deserved win!
