Edinburgh Trams has shared its Edinburgh Festival Fringe timetable ahead of the start of the arts festival in August.
The operator revealed that in addition to its regular service, it will be running late-night trams on Friday and Saturday nights this summer. With hundreds of thousands of tourists headed to the city, it's important to know how to get home late at night.
Edinburgh Trams’ Managing Director Lea Harrison said: "Throughout August the city is home to a series of world-famous events, including the main festival, Royal Edinburgh Tattoo and acclaimed Fringe performances, and we wanted to make it as easy as possible to get to and from venues, even late at night.

"In previous years, thousands of people have taken advantage of our late-night services and they’ve certainly proved a hit with festival goers. They are clearly popular and reflect our commitment to first-class customer service.
"Until the early hours of the morning, trams will serve all stops between St Andrew Square and the airport with our normal range of tram tickets accepted at no extra cost."
Visitors to the city can also save on the cost of parking by taking advantage of 1,000 free spaces at the Ingliston Park & Ride before completing their journey by tram. The facility will remain open beyond the usual closing time of 2am on nights when late-night services are running.
