Train lines in Edinburgh have been temporarily closed after emergency services raced to remove a person from the tracks.
ScotRail issued an urgent update to passengers on Sunday afternoon (January 8) shortly after 1pm after it was confirmed that an individual was on the line.
Located between Haymarket and Waverley Station, the transport operator stated that no services would be able to run until the scene had been cleared.

Speaking on social media, ScotRail said: "The police are removing a person from the tracks between Haymarket and Edinburgh Waverley.
"No trains are currently able to run between these stations until everyone is safely out the way."
It is unclear if there have been any injuries as a result of the incident.
Edinburgh Live contacted the British Transport Police for comment.
