Dozens of Scots car owners woke to find their tyres had been deflated by a group of activists in an overnight hit.
Over 30 SUV owners' motors were targeted overnight by environmental activists in the Portobello area of Edinburgh, reports Edinburgh Live.
The cars were on the hit list for a group known as The Tyre Extinguishers whose aim is to "make it impossible to own an SUV in the world's urban areas".
It's understood members of the descended on the streets on Sunday night or the early hours of Monday 'just metres' from a police station.
They suggested on Twitter that they took action to send a message to councillors in the capital.
The brazen eco-warriors bragged on social media: "LAST NIGHT: Tyre Extinguishers disarmed 30+ SUVs in the Edinburgh, Scotland seaside suburb of Portobello, just metres from the local police station.
"Edinburgh Tyre Extinguishers warned newly-elected Edinburgh Council politicians - take real climate action, or we'll take it for you."
An Edinburgh Tyre Extinguishers spokesperson said: "Edinburgh's politicians have been elected with promises to take action on climate, air pollution and road safety.
"But their plans go nowhere near far enough. Our message to them is: Take real action, or we'll take it for you."
